No doubt if you live in Ontario, Canada, you have been caught in the rain, walked in the rain or stood waiting for the rain to stop at some point this year. Last spring and summer we were praying for rain as we watched all the grass, the gardens and lakes dry up and burn. This year we have had more than enough to refill our wells, raise the water levels that were so depleted from last year's drought and caused many of us to finally break down and carry an umbrella.
Water - one of the honoured elements. Without it we could not exist. It brings life to the deserts, fuels our bodies and mind, feeds the plants. What if we were to embrace it and remember to give thanks for it? What if it was actually cleansing Mother Earth of the negativity we have planted through our thoughts and actions? How wonderful it feels to allow it to flow over our bodies and wash away any negativity we have attracted to us. Have you ever taken time to watch the magnificence of a storm? Do you ever find yourself in awe of the power and natural energy that is spread across the skies? Can you feel this energy (not too up close and personal!) around you? When was the last time you sat and listened to a gentle rain as it played out soothing music on a steel roof? Or heard its force when it came pouring out of the skies? When was the last time you danced in the rain?
Perhaps now is the time to give thanks for what the Universe no doubt knows we need. Make the most of each day, rain or shine. Embrace it, move with it instead of trying to control it. Allow yourself to be one with the Element of Water. Be cleansed, refreshed and renewed!
